Chippokes State Park Yurts
Surry, VA
About this stay
Chippokes State Park in Surry County offers three yurts in its main campground, sited in wooded areas for privacy on a 1,947-acre park just across the James River from historic Jamestown. Each yurt has a maximum occupancy of four and sleeps three on one queen-sized bed and a twin-sized trundle pull-out, with a large wooden deck, picnic table and fire ring; guests bring their own linens and use campground bathhouses. The yurts have no electricity or climate control. The park preserves a continuously operating farm dating to 1619, with a 19th-century mansion, formal gardens and historic outbuildings, and sits about 1.5 hours from Richmond and the Norfolk area.
