Machicomoco State Park, a 645-acre park in southern Gloucester County along the York River, offers three overnight yurts with a rental season of March through November and a two-night minimum. Each yurt has a maximum occupancy of four (sleeps three) and features a wooden deck, picnic table, fire ring, indoor dining table and couch; a water spigot is nearby but there is no electricity or climate control, and guests use the campground bathhouse. Yurt 3 is ADA-accessible. Virginia's first state park dedicated to Virginia Indian heritage, Machicomoco features an interpretive area with displays and a walking path exploring Powhatan's Chiefdom, about 10 miles downriver from Werowocomoco.
