Red Top Mountain State Park on Lake Allatoona, northwest of Atlanta, offers 6 yurts along with 20 rental cottages. The yurts are wood-and-canvas structures with furniture, electrical outlets, screened windows, a ceiling fan, a small heater, air conditioning and locking doors. Red Top Mountain's yurts sleep up to four, with a pull-out couch bed plus twin bunks rather than the six-person futon setup found at most Georgia yurt parks. Outside each yurt are a private deck, picnic table, grill or fire ring and water spigot, and a bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets is within walking distance. Cooking is not allowed inside and pets are not permitted in or around the yurts. Reservations run through the official Georgia State Parks reservation system.
