Mount Tamalpais State Park Steep Ravine Cabins

Stinson Beach, CA

About this stay

Mount Tamalpais State Park's Steep Ravine Environmental Campground, at Rocky Point south of Stinson Beach, offers nine rustic cabins perched on a coastal bluff directly above the Pacific Ocean. Each primitive cabin has a small wood-burning stove, sleeping platforms, a picnic table and an outdoor barbecue, but no electricity or running water — guests bring lanterns, bedding and water. Cabin #1 is wheelchair accessible. These are among the most sought-after reservations in the California State Parks system, and the park has piloted a reservation drawing (lottery) program to distribute them fairly. Booking is through ReserveCalifornia.
