Hungry Mother State Park, 3,334 acres in the mountains of southwest Virginia about four miles from Marion, offers three recreational yurts: two in Camp Burson campground and one in Royal Oak campground. Each yurt sleeps a maximum of three people on one queen-sized bed and a twin-sized trundle pull-out, and features a wooden deck, picnic table and fire ring; guests bring their own linens or sleeping bags and use nearby campground bathhouses. The yurts have no electricity or climate control. The park surrounds a placid 108-acre lake with a sandy swimming beach, boat rentals and hiking trails through the surrounding woodlands, roughly 45 minutes from Bristol.
