Battle Ground Lake State Park, built around a volcanic caldera lake north of Vancouver, rents camping cabins set among a grove of Douglas fir trees within walking distance of the lake. Each cabin measures 12 by 24 feet with a 6-foot covered front porch and has electric heat, lights and a locking door. Cabins sleep up to five guests, furnished with a bunk bed that sleeps three and a futon couch that sleeps two; bed linens are not provided. Park bathrooms are nearby, and cooking happens outdoors. Pets are allowed in cabin C21 only, for $15 per night with a maximum of two animals. Reservations are made through the Washington State Parks reservation system.
