Shawnee State Park covers 3,983 acres of Pennsylvania's Ridge and Valley Province ten miles west of historic Bedford, centered on 451-acre Shawnee Lake. Three camping cottages are available mid-April through late December, each sleeping five in bunk beds with wooden walls and floors, electric lights and outlets, electric heat, a porch, picnic table, fire ring, and access to a nearby shower house. The year-round Shawnee Lodge sleeps eight in four bedrooms with air conditioning, heat, a modern kitchen with electric stove and oven, refrigerator, microwave, full bathroom, and covered porch; renters bring their own linens and towels. The lake offers a swimming beach, boating, and fishing.
