Pickett CCC Memorial State Park Historic Cabins
Jamestown, TN
About this stay
Pickett CCC Memorial State Park, in the remote Upper Cumberland near Big South Fork, rents five historic cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s as part of Roosevelt's New Deal. Two wood shingle cabins (#1 and #4) and three stone cabins (#2, #3, and #5) all have screened-in porches, charcoal grills, and picnic tables; cabins #2 and #5 add exterior stone patios. Each has one bathroom, central heat and air conditioning, cooking utensils, linens, and a fireplace usable year-round with heat-treated firewood sold at the park. The cabins intentionally have no television, telephone, microwave, or toaster, preserving their historic character.
