Lake Walcott State Park, 11 miles northeast of Rupert at Minidoka Dam on the Snake River, is a green oasis in southern Idaho's high desert and lies within the Minidoka National Wildlife Refuge area. The park rents two camper cabins, one of them ADA accessible, bookable through the Idaho State Parks reservation system. Idaho State Parks describes its one-room camper cabins statewide as sleeping up to five on bunk beds and futons. The park also offers campsites, shaded lawns, a disc golf course, and boating, fishing and birdwatching on the reservoir. Reservations can be made online or at 1-888-922-6743.
