Heyburn State Park, established in 1908 as the oldest park in the Pacific Northwest, sits on Lake Chatcolet near Plummer, 37 miles south of Coeur d'Alene. It rents two camper cabins — Osprey (ADA accessible) and Blue Heron — each sleeping five with electricity, air conditioning and a microwave, situated near the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes rail-trail. Two larger two-bedroom cottages, Lakeview and Rocky Point, sleep up to eight each and include furnished kitchens, dining areas, living rooms and outdoor grills; the cottages are open year-round with a three-night minimum on weekends and holidays. Standard and serviced campsites are also available.
