Flambeau River State Forest in Sawyer County offers one ADA-accessible yurt, the Elk Ridge Yurt, set about 300 feet from its parking lot near the town of Oxbo and just upstream from the Dix-Dox canoe landing on the Flambeau River. Inside are four bunk beds with mattresses (one accessible bunk), a futon, a table and chairs, and a wood-burning stove for heat. Outside the site has a fire ring, lantern pole, bear-proof food storage box, game pole and an enclosed vault toilet. The yurt is reservable by everyone for all recreation purposes June 1 through August 31; in May and from September 1 to November 30 it is reserved exclusively for hunters, and it closes December through April. Drive-to access is available for visitors with disabilities with prior property-manager approval. Reserve through the Wisconsin State Park System reservation site.
