Fairy Stone State Park, 4,741 acres surrounding a 168-acre lake adjoining Philpott Reservoir near Stuart, Virginia, offers four yurts just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Each yurt sleeps three with one queen bed and a twin trundle, and features a large wooden deck, a picnic table and a fire ring with cooking grate. The yurts have no heat or air conditioning, and cooking and pets are not allowed inside; guests bring their own linens and use campground facilities. The park is named for the fairy stones (staurolite crystals) found nearby and offers hiking trails, a swimming beach, fishing, boating and two playgrounds.
