Cheboygan State Park, on Lake Huron's Duncan Bay east of the city of Cheboygan, rents three hike-in rustic cabins reached via seasonal, unplowed gravel roads. Each cabin sleeps eight in bunk beds and provides a table, chairs and a wood stove for heat; there is no electricity, air conditioning or linens, so guests come prepared for a genuinely rustic stay. Shoals Cabin is a 1-mile hike from the trailhead and sits about 60 yards from the lake. Lighthouse Point Cabin, a 1.5-mile hike in, is also about 60 yards from the water and features a 24-by-10-foot screened porch. Poe Reef Cabin is only a quarter-mile hike and about 40 yards from the lake, and is pet friendly for up to two pets.
