Big Ridge State Park, on Norris Lake north of Knoxville, rents 20 one-room rustic studio cabins built in 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Five cabins sit on the lakeside and 15 on the ridge, and eighteen sleep six people each with two full-size beds and a sofa sleeper. Each cabin has a bathroom with tub/shower, a full kitchen with stove and cookware, linens, a screened-in porch, air conditioning, electric heat, and a fireplace with firewood. The cabins are seasonal, open April 1 through October 31. Note: all Big Ridge cabins are temporarily closed for renovations and expected to reopen in late fall 2026.
