Big Bog State Recreation Area at Waskish, gateway to the largest peat bog in the lower 48 states with its mile-long bog boardwalk, offers six rustic camper cabins available year-round in the recreation area's southern unit. The cabins have electricity and propane heat; guests bring their own bedding. Camper cabin #1 is wheelchair accessible. There is no indoor plumbing — the cabins sit near vault toilets that stay open all year, and a family-style modern shower and restroom is available year-round at the visitor center, with an additional seasonal shower building in the campground during summer. Pets are not allowed in the cabins. Reservations open 120 days in advance.
