Afton State Park, on the bluffs of the St. Croix River east of the Twin Cities, offers four camper cabins with heat and electricity, available year-round: Big Bluestem and Bur Oak each sleep six, while Bluebird and White Pine are wheelchair accessible and sleep five each. Two seven-person yurts near the group camps are also available year-round; they have no electricity, but firewood is provided free in the colder months for the indoor woodstoves, and both have covered outdoor cooking shelters (the Coyote Yurt is accessible). A seasonal canvas wall tent sleeps up to six on two raised wood bed platforms, with a shared water spigot and vault toilet nearby. No pets in any units.
